Behind the Story

I’ve always been fascinated by horror stories that are super short. I don’t know who wrote it or when I read it, but one, in particular, stuck with me;

“The last man on Earth heard a knock at the door.”

Even now, this single sentence story gives me the creeps.

Anyway, a friend shared a writing competition on Facebook and when I saw it was to write a horror story in ten words or less, I had to come up with something.
